I have been tagged!
Is it that time again? You know, Meme time! Luckily, I was browsing through my Google Reader and realized that my friend Shailesh, the Arizona Mortgage Guru, tagged me. Of course one foreigner had to pick on another foreigner, so this is a first for me.
I have never done one of these before, so I will follow the rules exactly: (1) list 7 things about yourself, (2) tag 7 people to do the meme for themselves and include a link to their site.
- I was born in Austria, to be exact in Lower Austria, in a town called Moedling and grew up there until I was 13. So, Shailesh’s wife Aimee and I share a common thread.
- I have a City & Guilds Certificate in Food and Beverage Service.
- I dated the love of my life for three and half months before we got married.
- I still have dreams of buying a vineyard and make a living by
drinkingmaking wine. - I am directionally challenged (only when my wife is in the front passenger seat).
- I am a sucker for Pumpkin Seed Oil and try it on almost any food.
- I am a recent Mac-addict.
Now, I am not up to speed on who has and hasn’t been tagged and hope that Lani will help me out, too.
I’ll just throw 7 darts on my Google Reader:
Dru Bloomfield, Gary Miljour, Nick Bastian, Norm Fisher, Stacey Macioszek, Rhonda Porter and Jim Duncan .
I promise, I threw the darts blindfolded over my right shoulder and only 1 dart hit a blogger I personally know.
Christoph,
It blows me away to think that you and Aimee were born in the same hospital around the same time period! Just shows you how small the world really is.
Looking forward to having the kids play together soon!
Re: #3 – What took ya’ so long?
Re: #4 – Very cool..I think we need a drink!
Hon, you are directionally challenged if I am in the back seat, in the drivers seat or even in another car for that matter, but I love you in spite and because of that!
Christoph,
It has been a while since I’ve been Memed. I was just about to write a post but this will make that task a little easier.
I found it interesting that you wish to own a vineyard. If I recall, there is some family history in wine making. My husband makes beer and has dreams of owning his own brewery some day. There is always a big glass jug bubbling away in our pantry. He has, just recently, started experimenting with making wine. He even plans on planting a few vines this year. Although, he says the climate in Coastal SC is not very favorable for the most well known vinifera.
Stacey
I have to add this.
Just last night, we had a bottle of Riesling with dinner. It was not the best German wine we’ve ever had, but my husband was cooking a Polish meal and the wine was named “Polka Dot”. He felt it added a bit of whimsy to the meal.

[...] that I’d never discover in any other scenario. Fun to read, excruciating to write. I got tagged twice in one day, over two weeks ago, and I’ve just been pretending it never happened, much [...]
OK, Christoph…it was nerve wracking, but I’ve finally responded to your dart. Writing about myself is right up there with… oh, I’d rather not say. Thanks for the notice.
…and where would the vineyard be?
I really like Napa Valley, however there is already a great vineyard. Now go relax and open a nice bottle of vino…
