Out with the Old, In with the New: Happy New Year 2008!

Happy New Year 2008!

Hello Friends!

Welcome to this New Year! For many of us, the beginning of a new year is a time for resolutions. So, why is a New Year such an emotional trigger that causes people to commit to new resolutions? It is quite simple: We are human.

In our daily lives we have so much to do and so many distractions that take our focus away from accomplishing our goals. Do we know what our priorities are in our life? Most of us have great intentions in strictly sticking to the planned new-years resolution. However, we soon tend to fall back into our old habits, becoming distracted and often end up accomplishing less than half what we have intended. So, when the end of a year approaches, all of a sudden it becomes clear that time is not infinite.

Jay is absolutely right in saying that dwelling in the past is a waste of time. We should only reflect, and apply the knowledge gained in the past and utilize it to avoid things hindering us from achieving our goals – After all, there is nothing we can do to turn  back time. The only thing we can do is to look forward and make a change NOW to positively effect what lies ahead of us.

Almost one year ago, January 19th of 2007, I posted my first blog entry on Greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area Real Estate… 62 posts and 164 comments later I have had the honor of 11013 unique visitors (that means people) reading what was on my mind.

Last January I did not have a “blogolution” and perhaps starting up this blog almost a year ago was merely the direct result of my own need of “changing something” or “recommitting to something”.

This year I will try to post more frequently and NOT go MIA – the rest of my blog will grow “organically” as a “personal extension” of me. I just leave my resolution at that…

Wouldn’t it be great to have a New Years Eve at the end of every month so that we can experience this sociocentric phenomenon more often helping us staying on track with our resolutions?

For me, I think, it definitely would.

Have a Happy and Prosper New Year!
