How to manifest the perfect Real Estate Listing Widget: RealBird Inc. and Zoltan Szendro Rock

RealBird Inc. and Zoltan Szendro Rock!

The other night, when I started tinkering with the sidebar and looking for ways to incorporate real estate listings in a subtle way, I came across the service from RealBird.com.

In a nutshell, RealBird.com is a listing publisher which offers several services to promote real estate listings. One of the features RealBird.com offers is the “Just Listed” widget and I liked it so much that I gave it a try on my real estate blog.

“Wow, this is almost the perfect widget” I thought, “not too big, not too small, not overbearing – just what I wanted – but it still was not perfect!”

Being very particular about the design elements of my blog, the only thing I did not like about the widget was that it could not be customized.

If I could just adjust the back ground color then it would be perfect.

Being in a love-hate relationship with this widget as it was, I gave it a try and emailed RealBird’s customer support the following:

Hello There,

Is it possible to adjust the background color of the Listing Widget to match my blog design?

Thanks for your help!

Best regards,

Christoph

At this point I started to manifest my ideal widget to display real estate listings on my blog. Now keep in mind that I sent this email on a Saturday evening and to my surprise on Sunday morning I had following email in my in-box:

Christopher,

Currently you can not change the background color, but we can
implement that easily over the next week or so. We’ll let you know as
soon as it’s available.

Thank you

Best regards,

Zoltan Szendro – CTO, EVP, Co-founder

RealBird Inc.

I was blown away – needless to say – and I replied:

That would be awesome!

And six hours ago Zoltan emailed me back:

Christopher,

We have an upgrade which enables you to set colors on your “Just listed” widget.

E.g.

http://listings.realbird.com/justListed.aspx?id=D2B1E3A3&rb_bg=FFE1A4&rb_ac=CC0000&rb_tc=000000 &rb_lh=150&rb_f=0

rb_bg is the hex color of background
rb_ac is the hex color of underlined link
rb_tc is the hex color of the second text line (also a link but not underscored)
rb_f=0 hides the RealBird logo (the logo is not transparent so this has to be set for smooth colors when using background colors other than white.

Thanks for linking to us from your blog post.

Best regards,

Zoltan

Now look at my sidebar! This widget integrates totally with my theme…..perfect, just beautiful…at least that is what I think…

I have to tell you – I have never ever experienced such rapid response to a feature request.

What a breath of fresh air!

Zoltan, please keep the good stuff coming! RealBird.com rocks!

Thank you for all the helpful information. When you get a chance maybe you could publish a great floow chart on how to go about setting up exposure on the web for each listing. Thanks again
