History, Art, and Just Plain Fun Abound in the Phoenix Area

The next week offers a wealth of variety and fun for Phoenix area lovers of tradition, art, and history. Start your weekend off on Saturday, February 24 with the 54th Annual Parada del Sol Parade presented by the Scottsdale Jaycees. This parade is known as the “World’s Largest Horse drawn Parade.” Stepping off at 10:00 am, the Parade will run north up Scottsdale Road from Oak to Indian School. The Jaycees expect close to 150 parade entries this year, so plan on grabbing a seat, your friends, and family for this colorful event.

Parada del Sol

The fun doesn’t stop when the Parada del Sol ends, though. The annual Trail’s End Celebration keeps the party going in Old Town Scottsdale on 1st Avenue and Main St, between Brown Rd and Scottsdale Road. They promise a huge block party for all ages, including a Kid’s Area with games, pony rides, live music and much more. Trick Roping and trickery, great food and a cold ale can be found throughout Old Town. The winner of our western art contest held at various Scottsdale Elementary schools in conjunction with the Jaycees and Parada del Sol will be announced at the Trail’s End community stage.
