My first interview: Jay Thompson and Drew Meyers on Inman

While sitting at the grand foyer at the Palace Hotel killing some time waiting to go to the airport, I seized the moment and recorded my first video-interview.

Jay Thompson, The Phoenix Real Estate Guy and Drew Myers from Zillow.com giving feedback on Inman Connect.

So what did you like best about Inman Connect?

    Christoph,

It was a pleasure meeting you. To continue with your video question, my most “profound” experience was meeting Pete Flint of Trulia.

My favorite session was The Future of the MLS. While I think the room was filled with people who are not necessarily representative of attitudes of MLS providers around the Country, it was encouraging. I wish everyone had the same perspective as those on the panel and in the room, but we know that just isn’t so.

Maybe less felt as open about data before they started attending functions like Inman Connect. Getting out into a room full of forward thinking people expands mindset exponentially. In the hallways, in the sessions and at the parties. It all says “I’m part of trying to take my head out of my butt” and willing to put the time and effort into that endeavor.

Again, great meeting “the other bald guy with the glasses” :)

I’m glad we finally had the chance to meet in person. I hope it will happen much more often in the future.

Are these Inman Conferences worth it for individual practioners? They seem more focused on the Zillows, Trulias, etc. of the world.
